In addition to summer programs offered to high school students from across the country, Walking Tree also designs unforgettable custom itineraries for teachers and their classes, families and other motivated groups who are interested in embarking on unique and meaningful experiences overseas. We are able to organize custom programs around the globe that concentrate on a wide range of activities and global issues. We are happy to entertain all ideas. Essentially, anything is possible!
Walking Tree custom programs can range from a week to over a month and the easiest way to get started is to have an enthusiastic sponsor contact us directly, ideally months before the departure date. We will conference with the assembled group during the planning stages to answer questions, clarify doubts, provide a more thorough description of the itinerary under discussion and better understand the specific goals and motivations of your group.
Your custom program is made even easier by experienced staff based in your country of destination who help to develop every detail of the itinerary in conjunction with the Walking Tree Directors. Your group will be accompanied by at least one Walking Tree representative to ensure all needs are met and provide translation when necessary. Once all participants have committed to the program and the itinerary has been finalized, Walking Tree will provide you with packets of information meant to educate you on all relevant health/safety issues and prepare you for the adventure ahead.
We offer you an itinerary that can include any/or all of the following: international airfare; all in-country travel; hotel reservations; meals; visas and other necessary travel documentation; group entrance and activity fees; home stay arrangements; formal language classes; organization of community service projects; emergency medical treatment; etc. Further, depending on the cost and destination of the program, one teacher or organizer of the group travels for free after a certain number of group members are committed. Typically six or eight group members qualify for one free traveler.
We are happy to provide references of teachers and adults who have traveled with us in the past.
